Builds Blog Volume 2 | Chris' 11.5

Welcome back to the One Hundred Concepts Builds Blog! In this series, we highlight unique and purpose-driven rifle setups that prioritize concealment, performance, and real-world application. For Volume 2, we're diving into Chris' 11.5" SLR Rifleworks rifle—a meticulously crafted setup designed to excel in both daylight and low-light engagements while undergoing rigorous long-term testing.

The Intent

Chris’ rifle is built for reliability and adaptability in a variety of conditions, with a particular focus on night vision integration and signature reduction. This setup ensures optimal performance in both close-quarters and mid-range engagements while maintaining low visibility.

The Core Components

  • Barrel & Gas System: 11.5" BRT Optimum chambered in 5.56 with a tuned gas system, striking a balance between durability, recoil control, and suppressor optimization. For the recoil system, this rifle has been converted to a VLTOR A5 system with Sprinco Green and a Forward Controls Design RE5F.

  • Handguard: SLR Rifleworks rail, providing a rigid and lightweight platform with ample mounting options.

  • Muzzle Device & Suppressor:

    • CAT White Bread: Chris is a huge fan of Spectre’s CAT White Bread, and for good reason. This suppressor excels in flash and sound signature reduction, making it an ideal choice for low-visibility engagements. Its compact design doesn’t compromise on suppression performance, and it seamlessly integrates with the rifle’s balanced build. It is mounted with a Rearden muzzle device and HUB adapter

  • Optic & Mounting Solution:

    • Primary Optic: Nightforce ATACR 1-8x24, offering crystal-clear glass and precision tracking in a durable LPVO package. OG ScopeCap Pro to protect the optic while minimizing unwanted reflections.

    • Secondary Optic: Aimpoint ACRO, mounted with a HexCap 2.0 for added durability and passive aiming capability.

  • Lighting & IR Devices:

    • White Light: 18650 OKW Modlite, delivering high candela output for extreme-range illumination. Paired with a Ruggedized LightCap and ShockCollar.

    • Pressure Pad: OD Green Modbutton, used solely as a pressure switch for consistent activation.

    • IR Laser/Illuminator: MAWL, one of our favorite laser systems at One Hundred Concepts. Its ergonomic controls and intuitive usability make it an outstanding choice for both passive aiming and active illumination in low-light scenarios.

    • Micro SureFire: Currently undergoing long-term testing, adding an additional compact illumination option.

  • Additional Components:

    • Prototype Paracord QD: A soon-to-market innovation featuring a metal design that enhances sling retention while keeping weight minimal and preventing unwanted noise.

Concealment & Signature Reduction

In line with One Hundred Concepts’ philosophy, this rifle incorporates several key concealment features:

  • Color Scheme & Finish: Rather than a dedicated camouflage paint job, the rifle features a mix of black, FDE, and OD green parts to break up its outline and blend naturally into varied environments.

  • Optic & Light Management: Equipped with ScopeCap Pro and HexCap to reduce unwanted reflections and minimize signature.

  • Suppressor & Muzzle Signature: The CAT White Bread is a standout suppressor, minimizing both audible and visual detection, making it a formidable tool in reducing the shooter’s signature in both daylight and night operations. It strikes the perfect balance between suppression and gas blowback.

Final Thoughts

Chris’ 11.5" rifle represents a thoughtfully executed approach to balancing performance, concealment, and durability. With a combination of battle-tested optics, a robust lighting system, and innovative concealment solutions, this build is fine-tuned for real-world application and sustained testing in the field.
